The Blizzard NXT is Dometic's mid-profile rooftop line, built with vibration isolation to keep compressor noise down inside the coach and an aerodynamic molded shroud that reduces drag at highway speed.

Blizzard NXT units are stocked in 13,500 BTU cool only, in polar white and black. Some are single zone units that work with either ducted or non-ducted setups depending on the ceiling assembly you pair them with, while others are built for non-ducted installations only. Check the listing before ordering if your coach runs ductwork.

The rooftop unit ships on its own. The ceiling assembly and thermostat are sold separately, which lets you match airflow to your coach but means budgeting for both parts. All units fit the standard 14"" x 14"" roof opening and ship by freight.

What BTU options are available in the Dometic Blizzard RV air conditioner lineup?

The Dometic Blizzard NXT line is offered in 13,500 BTU and 15,000 BTU configurations, with both ducted and non-ducted ceiling assemblies. The 15,000 BTU model is the right call for larger Class A coaches or hot-climate use, while the 13,500 BTU unit handles most travel trailers and fifth wheels. Confirm your roof opening (standard 14" x 14") and your existing ceiling assembly type before ordering.

Do I need a separate ceiling assembly with a Blizzard NXT rooftop unit?

Yes. The rooftop unit and ceiling assembly are sold separately so you can match ducted or non-ducted airflow to your coach. For non-ducted setups with a wall thermostat, see our Dometic non-ducted ceiling assembly collection. Ducted coaches will use a separate plenum and the existing duct network.

Can I add a soft start to a Dometic Blizzard NXT?

A soft start lowers inrush current at compressor startup, which helps when running on a 30-amp pedestal, generator, or solar/inverter setup. Browse compatible kits in our RV air conditioner soft start collection and verify compressor voltage and capacitor specs against your Blizzard model before installation.

How is the Blizzard shipped and what should I expect at delivery?

Rooftop air conditioners ship via truck freight due to weight and size. Inspect the carton on the truck for any crushing or shifting before signing the delivery receipt, and photograph any damage.
