Suburban is one of the most widely used water heater brands in RVs, and most repairs come down to a handful of worn parts. Its tanks are porcelain-lined steel with an anode rod, unlike Atwood’s aluminum, so the rod is a consumable that protects the tank and should be replaced on a schedule.
Most other repairs trace back to ignition. A unit that clicks but will not light points to the electrode, gas valve or control board, while no hot water on electric alone points to the element or its thermostat. We cover those across the SW, SAW and ST series, along with pilot assemblies and module boards.
Access doors and mud dauber screens keep pests out of the burner opening, a common reason a Suburban will not light after storage. Parts vary by series, so confirm your model number before ordering.
