Dometic Tankless Water Heater Door Replacing Atwood 6 Gallon

2 productos

Which water heaters does the Dometic tankless water heater door replace?

The doors in this collection are sized for the sidewall opening left by an Atwood 6 gallon tank water heater, including the common G6A and GC6AA series. Check the data plate on your existing heater to confirm it is a 6 gallon Atwood before ordering. If you are removing a Dometic 10 gallon or a Suburban 10, 12, or 16 gallon unit, the opening is larger and you need a Dometic tankless water heater door for Dometic 10 gallon or Suburban 10, 12, or 16 gallon openings.

Does the door include the Dometic tankless water heater?

No. The products in this collection are the exterior door only. The tankless water heater is sold separately, and you can find compatible units in our Dometic RV water heaters collection. Order the heater and the door that matches your existing opening together so the installation is complete in one step.

How do I confirm my RV has an Atwood 6 gallon opening before ordering?

Open the exterior water heater door and read the model number on the data plate inside the compartment. Atwood 6 gallon models usually start with G6A or GC6AA. If the plate is missing or unreadable, measure the sidewall opening and the existing door frame, then text or call 817-984-1852 with those measurements and your RV's year, make, and model. We will confirm the correct door before it ships.

What else should I check when converting from an Atwood 6 gallon tank to a tankless water heater?

Confirm that your LP gas line, 12V DC power supply, and hot and cold water connections can reach the new unit's fittings. Some installations need plumbing adapters. A tankless unit has no tank to drain and no anode rod to replace, which removes two routine maintenance tasks. Because you are working on a propane appliance, verify that your combination carbon monoxide and propane alarm is working once the installation is complete.
